Singapore is rapidly developing itself as a global supply chain hub, linking the East and West, and building its global financing center to drive the growth in global trade and supply chain business. To support this effort, the Institute of Operations Research and Analytics at National University of Singapore (NUS-IORA) has launched the NUS-ZIBS Joint Lab of Supply Chain Management & Finance (SCM & SCF) in collaboration with Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS, established on the international campus of Zhejiang University) and BroaderWay Group (a leading provider of industrial internet and supply chain finance solutions) on 30 November 2023. This joint effort harnesses the research capabilities of NUS, Zhejiang University, and the industry application expertise of BroaderWay Group to focus on the core research areas of global supply chain management and finance. The lab aims to deliver specialized systems and risk control frameworks in supply chain management and finance to industries. Building on this foundation, it strives to establish an industry-internet-based technology-enabled system that integrates production and finance, driving the integration and advancement of industries in China. Ultimately, it aspires to become a professional platform that empowers economic and financial cooperation and development among member countries of RCEP.
The Joint Lab is co-directed by Prof. Teo Chung Piaw, a distinguished Provost’s Chair Professor and Executive Director of IORA at NUS, and Prof. Alvin Shen, an Adjunct Professor and Executive Director of the ZIBS SG Center. Their combined expertise in academia and practice guides the lab’s mission to develop innovative supply chain and finance solutions.
