With the success of RCA1, K&S and NUS agreed to further strengthen our collaboration with RCA2. In RCA2, the research team will broaden the research scope to beyond SMART manufacturing and to include Ball Bonder’s process R&D team to develop tools and methodologies for Ball Bonder’s smart process. The goal is to connect our SMART manufacturing all the way to our wire bonding processes with the aim of supporting our customers in their quality, productivity improvement and minimizing waste.

The RCA2 project is supported by AI Singapore, a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF), to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) thereby creating social and economic impacts, grow the local talent, build an AI ecosystem, and put Singapore on the world map. The grant awarded for the next 3 years is S$500,000, and the project sponsor is matching in cash and in-kind.
