SIA–NUS Digital Aviation Corp Lab Team Presents at IEEE VR 2026

IORA is proud to share that the SIA–NUS Digital Aviation Corp Lab team, led by Prof Khoo Eng Tat, presented their paper “Efficacy of High-Fidelity VR Threat-and-Error Simulation for Competency-Based Pilot Training” at IEEE VR 2026 in Daegu, South Korea. The paper will be published in IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) 🎉.

The research examines how immersive VR combined with AI can transform pilot training. Developing a VR-based AI co-pilot system in a realistic Busan landing scenario, the team conducted a comparative study against a traditional Full Flight Simulator (FFS). The findings show strong potential for VR to complement traditional simulators, helping to address the growing global demand for pilot training while maintaining high safety standards 💯.

This research was made possible through close collaboration with the SIA Flight Operations team, with IORA providing key administrative and operational support. The successful presentation at IEEE VR 2026 underscores our commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research with real-world impact in aviation and beyond ✈️.
