IORA Director (Research) Professor Toh Kim Chuan was awarded the Farkas Prize

Professor Toh Kim Chuan, Leo Tan Professor in Science, Department of Mathematics, Director of IORA, has been conferred the Farkas Prize for his fundamental contributions to the theory, practice and application of convex optimisation, especially semidefinite programming and conic programming.

Prof Toh’s research focuses on Algorithms and Applications of Convex and Semidefinite Programming, as well as Iterative Methods for Large Linear Systems of Equations. He is active in the field of optimisation and sits on the editorial board of several mathematical journals.

The Farkas Prize of the INFORMS Optimization Society is awarded annually at the INFORMS Fall National Meeting to researchers for outstanding contributions to the field of optimisation, over the course of his/her career.
