Welcome to IORA Industry Day 2025

12 September 2025 (Friday), 9am to 1pm

The Institute of Operations Research and Analytics (IORA) is proud to host the IORA Industry Day 2025. We are delighted to host this second run after the successful turnout last year. This half-day event will continue to highlight innovative applications of Operations Research and Data Analytics in addressing real-world industry challenges.

This year’s program will showcase six pioneering projects, developed in partnership with research collaborators from the aviation, pharmaceutical, marine and trade industries. These projects address critical issues including the boarding gate resource allocation, critical items import, supply chain disruption modelling, bunker fuelling optimisation and product flow prediction .

We are pleased to welcome guest speakers from Optimisation Analytics Technology, who will present their innovative work with Sanofi Biopharma on their global supply chain. We are also delighted to have Variflight to share the  work with IORA to improve the critical resource allocation problem of gate assignment at one of the China’s busiest airport (Shanghai Pudong Airport).

Additionally, the event will feature an engaging panel discussion with esteemed experts: Marc Dragon (Managing Director, Reefknot Investments), Prof Joel Goh (Director of PhD Program, IORA). They will discuss future opportunities for Operations Research in solving industry problems and how AI is also increasing being used to complement OR and data analytics work. The session will be moderated by Prof. Jussi Keppo, Research Director (Industry) at IORA.

We invite you to join us for this exciting event. Please register by 29th August 2025 (Mon) to reserve your seats.
