Harvest Decisions for Banana Farms

With accurate consumer demand forecast from the “Data Driven Intelligent Demand Forecasting for Banana Harvest” research and shelf-life prediction from the “Banana Shelf-Life Prediction Models and Algorithms” research, taking into consideration the current storage status at the farms, the proposed research works develop the decision rules and policies for the farms to make optimal decisions on when to harvest and how much to harvest so that the minimal total operational cost and the maximal consumer satisfaction can be achieved. The derived results from this topic will be able to assist the farms to make the right decision on harvesting their banana’s.

Our Objective

  • Develop the decision rules and policies for the farms to make optimal harvest decisions in terms of the minimal total operational cost and the maximal consumer satisfaction.

Our Deliverables

  • Optimal decision rules and policies for banana farms to make optimal harvest decisions.
  • A system design for implementing the developed optimal decision rules and policies.
