Case Study and Analysis on Banana Supply Chains

The processes and operations of banana supply chains are extremely complicated with great uncertainties due to bananas’ high vulnerability. Through a selected typical banana supply chain, we identify the operational challenges and important issues associated with the banana supply chain and collect and gather the relevant information and data of the entire banana supply chain from the farms to distributors, retailers and shops for analysis. Through the case study and analysis, promising research directions and areas across the banana supply chain will be identified and proposed, and further investigated in our future endeavors.

Our Objective

  • Collect and gather the relevant information and data of a typical banana supply chain from the farms to distributors, retailers and shops.
  • Identify the operational challenges and important issues associated with the banana supply chain.

Our Deliverables

  • Identified research directions and areas across the banana supply chain.
  • Research roadmap/framework for each research area identified.
